Border infrastructure is not the cause of friction between India and China, says MEA spokesperson

From the last few months, India and China are at a state of friction and both the countries have cited many reasons for the tension at the Himalayan border or the LAC. Recently, the Chinese foreign ministry have cited India’s border roads as the root cause of the friction. However, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has hit back saying that the development of the border region is being done to push economic activities in the region. The official also said that the development of the border area is important for India’s security and strategic requirements. China’ comment were a reaction to the Defence minister Rajnath Singh inaugurating 44 new bridges in the region.
