First joint statement by India and Pakistan in 8 years

After one of the most controversial and active years on the Line of Control, with over 4,600 instances of ceasefire violations by Pakistan recorded in 2020, India and Pakistan issued a joint statement on 25th February to strictly observe all agreements on ceasefire along the LOC and other sectors as well, and to address “each other’s core issues and concerns”. This was the first joint statement by both the countries in 8 years and it also brought appreciation from many countries.
