Great batsman, wicketkeeper, and former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket at 7.29 pm on August 15. He released a short video on his official Instagram page. After Dhoni’s retirement, his colleagues, people associated with politics and Bollywood shared stories related to him and wished him well. RP Singh, who shared the dressing room with the former captain, said, Dhoni got the signal to retire after poor performance in the 2019 World Cup. He also said in a conversation with a cricket website, in the 2019 World Cup, he wanted to bat at No. 4, but this was not done due to team management and he got a chance in the lower order till the semi-final match. Dhoni played the last match against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semi-finals. India suffered a loss in this match and Dhoni was run out, after which he left international cricket for more than a year. He will now be seen playing in the IPL 2020.
