Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana approves the biggest loan for the Agri sector

A loan of INR 3,971 crores was sanctioned by Government of India on November 20, 2020 for micro irrigation projects in Tamil Nadu. The subsidised interest rate under micro irrigation fund would be applicable for the loan. Government of India created the micro irrigation Fund in 2019-20 with a Corpus of INR 5,000 crores to provide subsidized loan to the states to expand their coverage of micro irrigation. The other states that have received the funds include West Bengal (INR 276 crores), Andhra Pradesh (INR 616 crores), Gujarat (INR 764 crores) and Haryana (INR 790 crores).
